Your hearing helps you stay connected and involved in life’s special moments. Research shows that hearing loss is a big risk factor for declines in both physical and mental well-being. Simply put, better hearing is good for our body and brain. It keeps our minds sharp, helps us stay connected to our loved ones and keeps you alert.
Our approach to education and engagement about age-related sensory disorders provides members with important information to support their independence and well-being:
There is no cost to join and begin receiving our information and educational materials. While we do have additional resources available for our members through care providers (below), we care most that our members get the help and access to care they need, from whichever provider makes the most sense for them.
We encourage members to review individual benefit plans and find the care provider that is best for your specific needs. If we can help, please let us know!
Songbird's unique approach to educational content and self-assessment seeks to help empower members to identify areas or risks for which they would like more information about or access to therapies and programs.
Songbird Health Program works with TruHearing to provide members with affordable hearing care nationwide. Members can receive a free online hearing test and have a dedicated phone number where they can talk with a hearing consultant to explore benefits coverage options and pricing, as well as make an appointment with a local practitioner to get started.
The Constant Therapy app delivers research-based, personalized brain exercises that are designed to reignite cognitive, speech, and language abilities. The patented technology delivers a customized cognitive training program tailored to the individual and tracks user progress to demonstrate results.
VPT offers Songbird members a free 15 minute assessment to review balance, mobility and fall risk. Those with “moderate” or “high fall risk” are recommended for further evaluation including a comprehensive vestibular assessment, gait analysis, strength, range of motion, neurological screen, and specific balance tests.
Through the Songbird Health Program, we are building a one-of-a-kind data science platform to measure and better understand how these therapies collectively impact health outcomes. For the first time, these four conditions and their related interventions can be examined together to better diagnose unmet needs, deliver high-quality therapy, and measure real world outcomes.
“I found the Songbird Health Program straight forward, intuitive and very easy to use. A free program that helped me understand the importance of getting my hearing checked and connected me to easy-to-access virtual programs and therapies that allow me to take charge of my own healthy aging. The programs I accessed sort of lured me in by providing an increasing challenge.
It's easy, and a free trial set of programs; there is no reason not to give it a try.”
“I have a 4-year-old grandson. He waited almost 3 years to start talking. When he finally said, ‘I love you,’ I heard it loud and clear. I cannot think of a better sound or a better reason to have purchased hearing aids!”
“I love the wind, which before my hearing aids was mostly a visual phenomenon. It rattles the chimes, bellows the tarp, and whistles through the yard. I don't take any of these for granted. I love these sounds, for they are the sounds of my life. I cherish them, for I know not how long my hearing aids will help me capture them, so I hold them dearly.”
"The assignments that I worked on at home with the Constant Therapy app… kept my mind working, they kept me constantly growing and improving… It gave me confidence.”
“I was terribly skeptical… In the first treatment [the therapist] showed me this was different. They centered the pain in my back and the exercise helped resolve it.”
